The Nike Mag, as designed by Tinker Hatfield, as based on the legendary shoe from Back to the Future II, also designed by Tinker Hatfield, and worn by one Michael J. Fox. Limited to 1,500 pairs, the proceeds will go to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. They will be auctioned off on eBay (specifically nikemag.ebay.com), 150 pairs a day, for 10 days, starting September 8th. Michael J Fox appears tonight on The Late Show with David Letterman to speak more candidly about the show/the foundation.They are close to the original shoe, but with added enhancements for longevity and comfort. The shoes take an actual charge, and will stay lit for 5 hours off of one charge. I should mention they don’t tie themselves, we’ll see hoverboards before that.
